Gokyo Ri Trekking is a popular trekking trail in the Everest region. It offers excellent views of the Everest region with small lodges on the entire route. It is usually less crowded as compared to the base camp trekking. It is also an alternative to the traditional trek to the Everest base camp. From Gokyo Ri, most of the Everest is visible. The view from Gokyo is exceptionally beautiful and it offers more of the legendary mountain.


Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu:
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,800m),30 munities, trek to Phakding (2,640m) -3 to 4 hours
Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,430m), 5 to 6 hours
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3480 meters) 5 hours.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.
Day 06: Trek to Dole (4130 meters) 5 hours.
Day 07: Trek to Mochermo (4470 meters)
Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4770 meters) 4 hours.
Day 09: Hike up to Gokyo Ri (5360 meters) early in the morning; then Back to Gokyo, 4 hours.
Day 10: Trek back to Dole (4130 meters)
Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3480 meters)
Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2795 meters) 6 hours
Day 13: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Day 14: Leisure day in Kathmandu
Day 15: Departure


Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu:

Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m), reception in Kathmandu Airport and transportation to Hotel-O/N in Hotel with BB

Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,800m),30 munities, trek to Phakding (2,640m) -3 to 4 hours

After breakfast or pack breakfast and fly to Lukla (30 to 40 min) in the morning. Meet with local Sherpa for porter. Then, the trek starts from Lukla. The trekkers pass Chaurikharka village and descent towards Ghat (2,530m) on the bank of the Dudhkosi River. Trek some 3 to 4 hrs to Phakding, O/N in local lodge.

Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,430m),5 to 6 hours

After breakfast, the trekkers follow the bank of Dodh Kosi River to reach Tok Tok along with panoramic view of Thamserku peak. Pass Sagarmatha National Park, then they walk some distance up to Jorsale (2830m) to reach Namche Bazaar. O/N in a local lodge.

Day 04: Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and visit Khumjung Village (3,790m)

After having breakfast, the trekkers can go for sightseeing around Namche Bazaar and hike to Everest View Hotel from where beautiful view of Mt.Everest, Nupste, Ama Dablam, Kangtegha, Thamserku, Kusum khangru, Khongde and Khumbi yu La. The spectacular view of mountains trail will lead trekkers in Khumjung Valley, where trekkers can see Hillary School, ancient Monastery with Yeti skull and Khunde Hospital before returning back to Namche. O/N in a local lodge.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day

Namche Bazaar is the best place for acclimatize. It’s the place from where we can see the first glance of Mt Everest. From here, the trekkers can see amazing views of mountain with a stunning sunrise and sunset over the panorama of Khumbu Peaks. Trekkers can go for the exploration of local places and experience the culture and lifestyle there.

Day 06: Trek to Dole (4130 meters), 5 hours

After the breakfast, hike up to Mochermo. The trekkers can get clear views of snowy peaks, mountains and local vegetations. They can observe the local living style and culture. The locals irrigate the crops for their needs and earn their income. Locals are involved in farming and lodging businesses. It takes some five hours to reach Dole from Namche Bazaar. Take overnight rest at Guest house in Dole.

Day 07: Trek to Mochermo (4470 meters)

Crossing Dole, trekkers will head to Mochermo, a way to Gokyo from where trekkers can get panoramic view of the valleys. It takes about 6 hours to reach Mochermo from Dole. Trekkers are required to climb the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpz glacier. Ngozumpa Glacier is one of the major places of attraction for its appearance in the world’s second largest glaciers.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4770 meters), 4 hours

After breakfast, trekkers will start trekking towards Gokyo which isthe main destination of the trek. Trekkers have to trek via Ngozumpa Glacier where the trail selects its zigzagged path and they can take the close views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Thamserkum, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Kusum Khagaru, Mt. Kongde Gokyo village is situated on the northern shore of Dudh Pokhari andit is the main attraction of the trek. Gokyo valley trekking is an alternative route to traditional trails to the Everest Base Camp.

Day 09: Hike up to Gokyo Ri (5360 meters), Back to Gokyo, 4 hours

It is the day for acclimatization in Gokyo. But if trekkers are interested, they can go for hiking up to Gokyo Ri early in the morning to see the amazing views of Gokyo village. Trekkers can hike up 4 hours to reach Gokyo Ri.

Day 10: Trek back to Dole (4130 meters)

After two nights stay at Gokyo, the trekkers trek back to Dole. The trail passes across Ngozumpa Glacier through Dudh Koshi River. On the way to Dole, the trekkers can get beautiful and close views of the peaks including Cho Oyu, Tharmserku, Kangtega. Then, the trekkers go down to Machhermo where the trail becomes easy to walk. O/N in a guest house.

Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3480 meters)

After 6 hours trekking, trekkers reach beautiful Sherpa village-Namche Bazaar. O/N in a hotel in Namche Bazaar

Day 12: Trek to Lukla (2795 meters) 6 hours

Trekkers will move towards suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and passing through the rhododendron forest, snowy mountains and peaks, and the pine forest. O/N in a guest house in Lukla

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla

After the breakfast, the trekkers will fly back to Kathmandu. Normally, the flight to Kathmandu is scheduled in the morning as Lukla normally sees wind in the afternoon. Upon return to Kathmandu, trekkers can take rest in the hotel entire day.

Day 14: Sightseeing of Kathmandu

The trekkers may take a full day at leisure or relax in hotel or explore the around Kathmandu valley. We will offer the trekkers a farewell dinner with typical Nepali food.

Day 15: Departure

Visitors/trekkers can fly back to their country or can extend their Nepal trip by exploring worth-seeing places which are in abundance in Nepal.
