Overview

Everest region is one of the top ten beautiful sites in the world to be visited in the life-time. It is famous for its topographical variation and unique culture and tradition. Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world, has unique natural landscape of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Mt Everest area is also famous for its Sherpa villages and Buddhist monasteries. Additionally,  Sagarmatha National Park, which extends to the area of 1,148 sq km, is also located in Mt Everest region.

This region contains 3% forest, 28% grazing land, and 69% barren land.  It is rich in flora and fauna. Moreover, Sagarmatha National Park is also listed in the world heritage site

The spring and autumn seasons are considered to be the best seasons to have the view of Himalayan peaks. During the spring season (from March to May), the temperature is warmer during day and night. It is also the best season to see a variety of rhododendrons blooming naturally.

Similarly, a number of endangered species like musk-deer, Himalayan black bear, wolf, goral and the Himalayan Tahrs are found in this region.

Moreover, this region has popular peaks including Lhotse, Lhotsar, Gokyo, Mera, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Nuptse, Pumori, Taboche. This region covers upper catchments of Bhote Koshi, Dudh Koshi and Imja Rivers and form one of the headwaters of the Ganges River.

Everest region is popular among the mountaineers and adventure trekkers. The combination of natural beauty of the surrounding mountain peaks and the local Sherpa culture makes this region as a popular tourist destination of Nepal.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2800m) and Trek to Phakding (2610m), 4Hrs.
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazar (3450m), 6Hrs.
Day 04: Acclimatize day in Namche Bazaar.
Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3860m), 5/ 6Hrs
Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4350m), 6 Hrs
Day 07: Acclimatize Day in Dingboche
Day 08: Trek to Lobuche (4930m), 6 Hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Gorakshep (5140m) and Visit Everest Base camp (5360m),7 Hrs
Day 10: Excursion to Kalapatthar (5645m); Trek back to Pheriche (4.250m), 7Hrs.
Day 11: Trek via Pangboche to Phortse, (3860m), 7Hrs
Day 12: Trek via Namche Bazaar to Jorsalle (2860m), 7Hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Lukla (2840m), 5 Hrs.
Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Sightseeing of Kathmandu

Detail Itinerary

1 Day

Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

Reception in Kathmandu Airport and transportation to Hotel, O/N in Hotel with BB.
2 Day

Fly to Lukla (2,800m), 30 munities, trek to Phakding (2,640m) - 3 to 4 hours

After breakfast or packing breakfast fly to Lukla (30 to 40 min) in the morning. Meet with local Sherpas for porter. Then, the trek starts from Lukla. The trekkers pass Chaurikharka village and descent towards Ghat (2,530m) on the bank of the Dudhkosi River. They trek some 3 to 4 hrs to Phakding, O/N in local lodge.

3 Day

Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,430m), 5 to 6 hours

After breakfast, the trekkers follow the bank of Dodh Koshi River to reach Tok Tok along with panoramic view of Thamserku peak. Then the trekkers pass Sagarmatha National Park. Then, they walk some distance up to Jorsale (2830m) to reach Namche Bazaar. O/N in a local lodge.

4 Day

Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and visit Khumjung Village (3,790m)

After having breakfast, the trekkers can go for sightseeing around Namche Bazaar and hike to Everest View Hotel from where beautiful view of Mt. Everest, Nupste, Ama Dablam, Kangtegha, Thamserku, Kusum Khangru, Khongde and Khumbi yu La. The spectacular view of mountains trail will lead trekkers in Khumjung Valley, where trekkers can see Hillary School, ancient Monastery with Yeti skull and Khunde Hospital before returning back to Namche. O/N in a local lodge.

5 Day

Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche (3,867m), 5 to 6 hours

After breakfast, the trekkers start the trek walking the trail through the forest with magnificent view of mountains until they reach Kenjoma. After passing small settlement Sanasa, the trail drops towards Phunki Thanga (3,250m). Then, it climbs steeply through forests on the Tangbuche Monastery (3,867m). Views of Kwangde, Tawachee, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku can be seen from here. O/N in local lodge at Tengboche.

6 Day

Tyangboche to Dingboche (4,300m) -5 to 6 hours

After breakfast, trekkers descend down from Tengboche, through the rhododendron forest to Deboche and cross a bridge over Imja Khol River. The trail for Dingbuche follows by climbing route of Island Peak and Phokalde peak. It is the gateway to Chukung and farther beyond for the most challenging traverses towards Makalu area and Hinko Valley via Sherpani col (6,100m) and Amphu Laptsa pass (5,780m) trips, O/N in a local lodge.

7 Day

Acclimatization day at Dingboche

After breakfast, trekkers can go for a day hike, up to Chhukung (4,730m) for acclimatization (point of climbing famous Island peak) or climb up to Nagarjun Peak for some two hours offer view of Imjatse Valley with Dingbuche village and Mt.Makalu (8,463m), Ama Dablam, Island peak and return back to Dingboche for overnight.

8 Day

Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930m) - 5 to 6 hours

After the breakfast, the trail climbs up to Duglha offering stunning views of Tawachee and Cholatse. From Duglha trail goesup to the Khumbu Glacier for an hour. Then it leaves for the memorial area before reaching Lubuche, a village. O/N in local lodge.

9 Day

Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,140m), 3 hours & Everest Base Camp (5,364m) - 2 to 3 hours

After breakfast, trekkers will climb and ascend to nearby glacier. The trail goes to Gorakshep which is rocky and windy. It offers good view of Mt. Pumori with beautiful views of the Everest Base camp. Trekkers continue the trek towards Everest Base Camp and to Khumbu Ice-fall. Please, follow the Sherpa as the path might be misleading as there are chances that trail may change due to glacier. Thus, the trekkers required to be cautious of altitude sickness before they pass through rocky dunes, moraine and streams up to the base camp. This route is full of trekkers during the trekking seasons. It takes some 2-3 hrs to reach the base camp. O/N in a local lodge.

10 Day

Gorakshep to Kalapathar (5,550m), 2 hours & Stroll back to Pheriche (4,240m) 5 to 6 hours

After the breakfast, the trekkers climb up for some 2 hours to reach Kalapathar for the panoramic view of the mountains. Kalapathar, a peak offers the trekkers splendid view of the the Khumbu glacier in the south. They can see Everest Base camp below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier and several mountains Pumari (7,145m), Lingtren (6,695m), Khumbutse (6,623m), Changtse (7,550m), Nupse (7879m), Everest. Then, trekkers step down to Dhugla and move towards Pheriche in Imja valley and it is the only place in Khumbu where barley grows, O/N in a hotel.

11 Day

Pheriche to Tyangboche (3867m) - 4 to 5 hours

After the breakfast, trekkers move downwards from Pheriche. The walk is pleasant all the way to Tyangboche. They can see very old Pangboche Sherpa Village, and further down is Tyangboche, a beautiful place with big monastery and large field with campsites and teahouses, lodges beneath the majestic peak Ama Dablam.

12 Day

Tyangboche to Namche Bazaar (3430m),4 to 5 hours

After breakfast, the trekkersmove down through a forest with pine tree, jupiter tree, rhododendron and magnolia and birch trees with a suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River. The crossing of the bridge will give trekkers refresh feeling and emotions. Then, they reach Namche bazaar to stay the night.

13 Day

Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m), 6 to 7 hours

After breakfast, the trekkers move to Lukla. They descend the way before crossing a bridge and further they walk to Monju and Phakding. They will enjoy lush green scenery around and passing through incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa village until they reach Lukla. They will have time to wander around the areas. O/N in a hotel in Lukla.

14 Day

Fly back to Kathmandu

After the breakfast, the trekkers will fly back to Kathmandu. Normally, the flight to Kathmandu is scheduled in the morning as Lukla normally sees wind in the afternoon. Upon return to Kathmandu, trekkers can take rest in the hotel entire day.

15 Day

Sightseeing of Kathmandu

Trekkers may take a full day at leisure or relax in hotel or explore the around Kathmandu valley. We will offer you a farewell dinner with typical Nepali food.

16 Day

Departure

Visitors/trekkers can fly back to their countries or can extend their Nepal trip exploring worth-seeing places which are in abundance in Nepal.
