Overview

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a unique experience for the adventurers. The trek trail is home to typical Gurung and Poon Magar ethnic groups who live a traditional life in beautiful villages including Ghandruk and Chhomrong. Their unique culture, languages, lifestyles and their “typical dress ups” in the background of Rhododendron forests will draw the attention of the trekkers.

Poon Hill is the view point from where trekkers can see the majestic views of the Annapurna Range, the Dhaulagiri Range, the Machhapuchhre and the Manaslu region.

Short Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m), 6-7 hours
Day 3: Pokhara to Nayapool drive and trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m), 4-5 hours
Day 4 :Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (3200m), 6-7 hours
Day 5: Hike to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani (2700m), 5-6 hours
Day 6 :Tadapani to Sinuwa (2340m), 6-7 hours
Day 7: Sinuwa to Deurali (3230m), 6 hours
Day 8: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), 5 hours
Day 9: Base Camp to Bamboo (2340m), 6 hours
Day 10: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (Jhinu Hot Spring) (1780m), 5 hours
Day 11: Jhinu Danda to Nayapul, 5 hours, and drive back to Pokhara, 1.30 hour
Day 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu
Day 13: Departure

Detail Itinerary

1 Day

Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

Reception in Kathmandu Airport and transportation to Hotel, O/N in Hotel with BB.
2 Day

Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m), 6-7 hours

After breakfast, the trekkers will move to Pokhara in a private vehicle or a tourist bus. They can enjoy the trip with the views of mountains, rivers, waterfalls, green forests, farm terraces and villages on the way, O/N in hotel with BB.

3 Day

Pokhara to Nayapool drive and trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m), 4-5 hours

After breakfast, trekkers take a short drive to Nayapool where all the luggage and required items are packed. Then, they walk to Tikhadhunga. The walk to Birethanti from Nayapul is easy with the view of adjoining river and villages, O/N in Tikhedhunga.

4 Day

Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (3200m), 6-7 hours

After having breakfast, trekkers move uphill with 3100 stone steps up to Ulleri. They can enjoy trekking along with the view of amazing landscape, beautiful flowers, flora and fauna till they reach Ghorepani where an excellent view of mountains including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri can be seen, O/N in a local lodge.

5 Day

Hike to Poon Hill and Trek to Tadapani (2700m), 5-6 hours

Early in the morning (around 4 am), the trekkers will hike up to Poon hill to see the sunrise. The trekking to Poon hill from Ghorepani takes some 4 hours up and down on the way. Majestic views of sunrise can be seen from the hill. Trekkers can take pictures of sunrise to capture the memorable moments. Then, they return to the lodge at Ghorepani for the breakfast and trek down to Tadapani, O/N in local lodge.

6 Day

Tadapani to Sinuwa (2340m), 6-7 hours

After breakfast, trekkers trek down towards Sinuwa. The trail goes to Chomrong, a village. Then, the trekkers steep downhill to the bottom of the hill, Then, they continue to climbing up to Sinuwa, O/N in a local lodge.

7 Day

Sinuwa to Deurali (3230m), 6 hours

After breakfast, the trekking is an easy walk through a forest up to Bamboo, a village and later the trekkers walk up to Dovan. Then, they climb to Deurali, O/N in a local lodge.

8 Day

Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m), 5 hours

After breakfast, trekkers start the day with a steady climb up the valley till they reach Machhapuchhare Base Camp. Here, they can choose whether to stay here or take a climb to ABC. The climb to ABC can be better for those feeling fit and healthy.

9 Day

Base Camp to Bamboo (2340m), 6 hours

After breakfast, trekkers return to Bamboo following the same trail in a reverse direction. The trail drops to 1700m to the bank of the Modi Khola and Bamboo. Trekkers can find many tea houses and lodges, O/N in Bamboo.

10 Day

Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (Jhinu Hot Spring) (1780m), 5 hours

After breakfast, the trekkers will head uphill in several many stone steps reach a ridge. Then it is an easy walk to Sinuwa. Then, the trekkers drop to the bottom of the hill before climbing Chomrong where trekkers can take lunch. The trekkers trek to Jhinu which is quite steep one. After walking some 15 minutes downhill, they can enjoy hot spring on the bank of a river.

11 Day

Jhinu Danda to Nayapul, 5 hours, and drive back to Pokhara, 1.30 hour

After breakfast, trekkers will walk right side of Modi Khola for some 5 hours to Birethanti which can be considered one of the best and the most relaxing walks of the entire Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Upon reaching Nayapool, trekkers can take a private vehicle and drive back to Pokhara where they can stay overnight in a hotel.

12 Day

Pokhara to Kathmandu

Trekkers have option to fly or drive back to Kathmandu, O/N in hotel in Kathmandu.

13 Day

Departure

Visitors/trekkers can fly back to their countries or can extend their Nepal trip exploring worth-seeing places which are in abundance in Nepal.
